An elusive concept?When you see an "invoice" to an automobile dealer for $30,000 and he sells you the car for $200 over invoice, do you think the dealer is only making $200 on an expenditure of $30,000? Are you really buying "cost up?" Office Product margins are similar. Even if you happen to be one of the few companies that knows the invoiced cost from a Manufacturer to your Distributor, such as 3M's invoice to Staples for Post-Its, you still don't know the true cost. Your salesperson does not know the true cost. Your salesperson's Sales Manager & Director of Sales probably don't know the true cost either. Overhead…. Equally elusive? Do you think you can calculate your Distributors' overheads to service your account by reading their Annual Reports? In most cases, my staff and I know the true costs to your Distributors, net of all rebates, marketing and volume incentives, etc., of the products in our categories: Office and Computer Supplies, Promotional Products, Office Furniture, and Commercial Printing & Forms Management. These "true net" costs are known to only a few Senior Executives at your Distributors. We also understand the variables that determine what it actually costs your Distributor to service your account. Given all of these factors, if you have a seven figure budget for any one of the product categories we carry, we can likely save you a lot of money. Here is how: • Initial free consultation and review of 1 month's bills. • If we determine that we can save you more than $100,000, we will work on a contingency basis for a percentage of the savings we can generate and document. • If you are happy with the service you receive from your current Distributor, we will meet with them and attempt to renegotiate your agreement. In addition, we may, as a benchmark, bring other Distributors to the table if we believe that they can save you money and deliver equal or better products, service, and overall value. • If you wish, we can also analyze your "process costs." If deemed necessary, we make recommendations based upon our extensive knowledge of best practices in comparable companies.
