Seasons Greetings!

Did you know that one of the most valuable pieces of real estate is your target audiences’ desktops? When your tagline and contact information land on desktop property, it means dozens of impressions per hour, five days a workweek.

But desktops are getting more precious per square inch as cubicles and workspaces have been steadily shrinking in recent years. This means you must be extremely shrewd in your choice of promotional office accessories. And while there are thousands of options available, only the most clever, functional and space-efficient will keep your company name or brand on center stage.

Here are a few points to remember when selecting desk accessories:

Functionality – Choose items that combine functions such as a clock with calculator or a photo frame with perpetual calendar. The more efficient a product, the more likely it will be retained.

Size – While intuitively you might think bigger is better, due to smaller workspaces workers typically want to avoid clutter. Select small, top-quality merchandise to deliver your message and you increase the chance that it will become a permanent “resident.”

Personalization – It’s human nature to retain anything with one’s name attached. Many promotional products are now available that can be personalized in a relatively inexpensive way. (Ask us about this!)

Style – Everyone wants to be viewed as fashionable. Desktop accessories are no different than apparel accessories; they say something about the person who uses them. Knowing this, many manufacturers of desk items now offer trendy merchandise in materials ranging from stainless steel or brass to mahogany or crystal.

Demographic – As you’re considering your product options, keep your audience in mind. A young target market of tech workers might like colorful translucent accessories while a promotion to bankers would be better if it included products of traditional metals or wood.
